Our Chiro editorial policy (clinical content)
Purpose
Deliver accurate, balanced, evidence-based information. Support informed decisions. Avoid misleading claims. Comply with Australian laws and professional guidance.
Scope
All clinical pages, blogs, FAQs, service pages, social posts, emails, videos, and downloadable guides.
Roles and accountability
- Lead author: AHPRA-registered chiropractor drafts content and cites evidence.
- Clinical reviewer: senior chiropractor (CBA-registered) checks accuracy, safety, scope of practice, readability.
- Compliance reviewer: checks against AHPRA advertising rules, National Law s133, Australian Consumer Law, privacy rules, and (when relevant) TGA advertising rules.
- Final approver: Clinical Director or Principal Chiropractor.
- Owner: Marketing Manager maintains version control, review cadence, and audit trail.
Creation standards
- State indications, expected benefits, risks, and alternatives.
- Use plain English and conservative claims.
- Attribute clinical statements to credible evidence.
- Note limits of evidence when evidence is mixed or emerging.
- Avoid guarantees, superlatives, and exaggerated outcomes.
- Use Australian English and patient-first language.
Evidence requirements
- Prefer systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical guidelines, and well-designed human studies.
- Do not use anecdotes, single cases, animal studies, or testimonials to support clinical claims.
- When evidence is limited, present balanced wording and clear caveats.
Clinical review and sign-off
- Two-step review: senior chiropractor and compliance reviewer.
- Record reviewer names and AHPRA registration numbers in the audit log.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest during review.
Updates and maintenance
- Scheduled review: at least every 12 months.
- Trigger review: after regulatory changes, new high-quality evidence, product withdrawals, or safety alerts.
- Each page shows Last reviewed and Next review due.
Corrections and retractions
- Correct material errors promptly with a dated note.
- Remove unsafe or non-compliant pages and replace with a holding notice during review.
